Two things went wrong with the Khamenei-Putin master plan.

Firstly Biden didn't take your bait. Wider regional chaos was avoided.

Secondly .... While Khamenei and Putin set the proxied atrocities to cause over reaction by Netanyahu...... the man's psychopathy went way too far..... to the point that US politicians have now been reminded of a broader Putinist-Khamenei threat to Europe and the ME. The folly took Ukraine off the radar for a long time but now it's back.

By the way I have never forgotten the massacre of Palestinians in Syria by Putin-Khamenei proxies.

Putin did successfully enable the mobilisation of far left activists to oppose "Jews" rather than the "Netanyahu Cabinet" BUT the US election is still several months off AND US voter memories are short.

Putin appears to have lost his gamesmanship touch.
