I suggesting that there might be things that Talga could do to alter this I wasn't thinking of flooding them with Krona, but to find some way of winning them over without excessively spending shareholder's money. Maximum benefit for minimum cost. Find a trigger that can make their future better than their present.

One thought was for Talga to create a modern day museum in Kiruna focussed on the geological richness of the Scandinavian north. Talga, LKAB and others in a consortium would be a start. Think of Mona out of Hobart as a template. It is heavily booked, scheduled and prepaid months ahead. The geology of North Sweden is a gift well documented and it only remains to turn it into a story.

This would attract visitors from the south and significant benefits would accrue to all the local hospitality businesses with a bit of "get up and go".

There could also be the start of a tourism linkage with Norway's fjord route which could be turned into a round trip. Bergin north to Trondheim to Narvik then east to Kiruna then south to Lulea and to Stockholm and west back to Bergin again.

This would be an attractive thought for the politicians who talk big about populating the North. Some one needs to plant the seed.
