You chose to engage in those discussions as a non holder, you knew the reactions with which they would be met, if that is how you get your rocks off then fair enough. But you know/ knew you would cop it for being a contrarian here.
People have their money on the line here, not just their point of view, so yes, show some empathy. I am sure at some point you have made a financial decision that didn't pan out as expected, and I am sure somewhere there inside, you can remember how that felt.
