Thankyou.@Haywan88 is therefore basically saying all those LT holders of BHP, Rio, FMG, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon, and the rest, who have been holding steady for years on end, and now reaping their unbelievably huge rewards, are all greedy idiots? His / her views are totally off the mark of what long term investing is all about. Selling, buying, selling, buying on a whim, is NOT investing, it is Trading, and is definitely ‘timing’ the market, which many professionals warn against unless you have the know how and ability to trade confidently.
I certainly would never suggest those who took profits at $3 were wrong to, and I would never suggest those not taking any were wrong not to. I certainly took a small portion off the table to invest in another play, but I also chose to hold the lion’s share with the lion.
We all make our own choices and @Haywan88 has no right to suggest criticism be levelled at those who did not take profits.
