Without absolving MA from well deserved blame, I do wonder if LLL would have been sucked into this mess if the current BoD handled the "exit" of Morila with a little more tact.
Turning off the tap and saying "not our problem" clearly started this whole debacle.
I know hindsight is 20:20 but this clearly points to inexperience in dealing with unpredictable governments (read: Africa).
Makes you wonder, if they took a little more time backing out of Morila instead of the shotgun approach, would Goulamina have been far enough down the track (permits, duties, power etc etc) that they wouldn't be able to put up the roadblocks they did, nor would they have wanted to as the animosity may not have been present....?
We'll never know unfortunately!!
