When HGO sold the ESG stake to santos it is likely that the stake was sold with a " I scratch your back you scratch my back" understanding.
HGO could have gone to the open market and start a bidding war on their stake but they didn't.
Further, HGO's recent announcement that they will be delaying FID by another two weeks strongly suggests to me that the deal has been done and this week will see the start of a takeover on ESG (and subsequent FID for HGO's Kanmantoo mine).
What other reasonable explanation can be offered for HGO delaying FID for another two weeks.
Good luck holders.
P.S. The first bid of ESG won't be the last imo.
