I remember back in the days when arpanet transitioned to the internet wiith the overt sharing of knowledge and the carryover of camaraderie.

It was a milieu of new beginnings and some really clever peoples. Even the newsgroups and discussion boards were heavy hitting, but the audience was predominately boomer and inquisitive X genners and appreciative of attempts at a windup, ignoring the temptation to become inflamed....even the perjorative 'brawlhall' was great for a laugh (and I might say my trolling biggrin.png). The dotcom boom was just around the corner.

When commercialisation entered the room that was the end of the unbounded expressional freedoms, instead progressively tempered year on year until the govts have now decided good old fashioned censorship is needed to curb enthuisiam and order society into conformity. Party is fast coming to an end I fear.
