He should have bought at 30c when he could have but was either too busy or finances too tied up to do so for some reason at the time.
Now he is gambling on the vote as you say and offsetting that risk expensively just in case.
It's all relative if you are in the 100x club still in time like me. Once you have a certain amount of $$ more just becomes a figure in your bank balance and makes no real difference to your life..
