Re: legacy automakers, they are in the process of restructuring to produce EVs, which in the US are still a small fraction of total sales. Consequently many lose money on EVs -- at the moment -- but this is not as significant as you imply. They are still just dipping their toes in the water. Specialized EV makers like Tesla make a profit.
with the coming 100% US tariff on imported Chinese EVs + US discount for IRA compliant cars + govt subsidies and tax benefits in Canada and the US, this is actually a pretty good time to be invested in ex-China lithium projects, especially those close to the Na market.
