Hi,
Don't understand how that could be "manipulation".
Imagine I buy a gold coin OCT12/2010 e.g. the 2010 Koala High Relief
from the Perth Mint for 2454,55 AUS$ for one Oz of pure gold. +- 1750 Euro. London fixing that day was +- 950 Euro/Oz.
I put my coin for sale on Ebay for 5000 AUS$. "Buy it now!"
No bidding.
If somebody is willing to pay for it I'd let it go.
Am I manipulating the price of gold ???
The best way to protect yourself from shortsellers is to have a sell order on your shares way above the current price. Shares that have a sell order on them can not be shorted.
Everybody should do it.
