China's vehicle sales grew by 9.3% from the prior year to 2.36 million in April 2024, after a 9.9% increase in the previous month, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). It noted that sales of new energy vehicles jumped by 33.5%. Meanwhile, a separate report from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) indicated that new energy vehicle sales accounted for 43.5% of total car sales in April, the highest share on record. CAAM mentioned that vehicle sales climbed 10.2% during the first four months of the year, with new energy vehicles surging 32.3%.
