    I'd assume speculators and investors (one and the same in my view) are equally concerned with price movements above a certain time threshold. Machines are pretty good at dealing with the very low time scales, exacting various arbitrages against numerous inefficiencies. A long term investor could hold a stake in a fund that operates like this so I don't know where the comparison leads to in their case.

    While I don't know the exact numbers I do agree that some 90% of people come into the market calling themselves traders, only to be wiped out and replaced. Many self managed long horizon investors also suffer from the same human pit falls of using emotions to make decisions and just bleed out over a longer period. There is a high failure rate for new businesses too.

    I wonder what Benjamin Graham would say of wbt?
