Rare earth specialist MP Materials up 9.3% after the White House raises tariffs on Chinese imports of the underpinnings for magnets used in missiles, aircraft and other defense products, as well as electric vehicles. MP is shifting from refining U.S.-produced rare earths in China to domestic processing, partly funded by the Pentagon, and a plant in Fort Worth that's due to start producing magnets next year for launch customer GM.
