Plenty of mines closing down due to low profitability, coal mines etc will be closing down over the years. If there are no other mines for these people to go to, where will they work? It's short sighted not to invest in mining critical minerals that will be used for many decades. The alternative is keep going the way we are, miss the boat, and just turn into a third world country who only has tourism
