Image of God who is Spirit, do not necessarily mean anything to do with that image aspect as in spirit.
The Image of God is expanded upon, elaborated on with the words, "our likeness" = in our ways etc.
It gets even more expanded upon with Jesus, who would of had the God and Fathers words without measure, so when he expressed them out, he became the Express Image of the God and Fathers PESRSON.
Your words expressed are your person expressed, or part there of.

The verse was simply written that way, in mans language that he would understand.
It does not matter how the breath of life got into the lifeless body, but logic and common sense Demands, that the breath of life term involves oxygen and man come alive.
NO WAY does the verse say man received a soul and spirit or either just one of them, after coming alive or during, he is simplistically defined as a living soul = living person, that is the entire package.
The product of this package, things coming from it, can be defined in various ways, and they are all interchanged in various passages in the Bible, Heart, mind, soul and spirit = all representing the same thing in their own right, which is effectively the mind, drawing from the brain, the storage bank of the living soul.
It does not say you have a soul, but you ARE a living soul.

Inner most aspect, derived from the living soul and not a separate soul, the entire person, the brain being the operation room, center so to speak, which produces the terms, heart, mind, soul and spirit of the person.

It simply does NOT even indicate this, that is your addition, creation.
Somehow God obviously got oxygen into Adam's lungs, and considering all of his creation, why on earth would you have such trouble grasping this simple fact.
If you're going to go with this crazy notion, then you would have to apply it equally to all the Gens creation events, as they were all produced by the Spirit that the God and Father is, The Holy.
