It has to be the right households of which there are plenty but accessing that market is not easy - well not when you market like they did - I use that term loosely. A house with pool pumps, spa, heat pump hot water , reverse cycle aircon/ heating or charging EV can easily draw enough if planned but 2 batterys obviously and always was a better option especially where there is low load . usage and time dependent .

Households , farms . small factory . small business all were possibilities but you have to get past discretion of installer groups and or partner with energy companies or simply support suppliers and help them target where you know the product has a competitive advantage

Again it is about scale- it takes same staff scale to service 1 retail client as 50 so until you have scale cost per user are great and RFX never got to scale of retail word of mouth and distributors never managed to

Market 10 year on has changed, pricepoint and size of lithium has changed along with control systems of various products along with actual cost of solar. With pricing energy time / load shifting is going to most effective way to save $ and when EV are allowed to serve dual purpose as household storage battery the dynamics will change yet again.

Next rounds of international and local market interference with grants etc will continue to keep the goalposts moving and in some countries govts will keep trying to pick winner technology rather than let market decide and China etc will dump as low pricepoint to stymie competition and erode profitability

I see CATL batteries removed from millitary bases due to possibly connection with base intranet and security risk of foreign software
