Sure, BHP wants the copper mines. And it is content to let journalists write sober, serious copy and the deniers drool over Bowen Basin met coal - until they sell it.
BHP will be entirely silent on Woodsmith, pretend disinterest until it has AAL in its grasp. It is actually a key asset, valued at zero. BHP wants this market opinion to stand.
I hold AAL's Polyhalite project in higher regard than BHP's Canadian Potash play. The product is higher value, higher utility and highly complimentary to Jansen's Potassium Chloride. POLY4's potassium, calcium, magnesium and sulphur mix will be embraced by farmers.
I cannot judge Woodsmith mining and processing difficulty on current information. If anyone has a view, please speak up.
BHP is determined to grow a fourth leg in Potassium. Woodsmith has scale and quality. Watch this unfold.
