That's really interesting and significant. It actually surprises me. Without thinking about the process, you would intuitively think younger donors have more growth factors at work and presume the results to be more efficacious. But a tenocyte stem cell is a tenocyte stem cell. If OCC can deliver 10,000,000 to a 65 year old or 10,000,000 to a 35 year old, they get the same number of cells.

So suggesting the quality of fibroblasts and other macrophage growth factors in a stem cell do not degrade with age, just the number PRODUCED does.

Wow, this is actually really important finding and bodes so well for those of us interested in extending quality of life (i.e. everyone not asleep at the wheel and society in general). ATI really is an elixir of youth for tendons. OCC could take a biopsy from an 80 year old with a similarly impaired rotator cuff to an avid 30 year old swimmer for example, and expect the same biological improvement - rehab and bio-mechanical loading regimes and adaptation aside.
