As chart #1 clearly shows , baseload generators can no longer run flat out all the time because renewables are cutting their lunch . Consequently , they are losing money and that's why they are shutting down.
All of the electricity generators are getting out of fossil and getting into renewables . None are getting into nuclear .
As the second chart shows, this phenomena is increasing over time . Renewables are producing more and baseload is producing less.
