reading thru some of the responses, its clear many are passionate about free speech. and fair enough.
some of you may recall that just prior to the election, an ad appeared on HC promoting the positives of the mining tax. i never saw the ad, but essentially its contents were so bad that it was removed at the mods request. i believe the ad was only on display for only an hour or so one evening. the mods claimed the ad was OFFENSIVE due to the potential & reality the mining tax was having on portfolios of HC members.
i was one of only a few who protested to this action of banning the ad - not on the grounds of free speech, but on the grounds that it OFFENDED. i argued that the mods were assuming the ad was offensive to its members, and wasnt a situation that deserved debate.
