I just want to know who is providing technical advice on Nuclear energy.
That way when I hear Dutton say "Nucular is cheaper", I'll know if I can believe him.
Right now I don't believe him, because I don't think he's done his homework.
The way he's flip flopped from SMRs to Traditional, I don't think he even knows how many nukes he needs to build, what that will cost, and how long it will take.
If we go nuclear, we can't build just one.
I don't think he's considered the additional cost of keeping Coal plants running while the Nuclear plants are being built. Most need significant maintenance if they are going to have to last decades. Which is what we are looking at to build several nuclear plants.
Nuclear has been built many times the world over with large subsidies from governments the world over.
Angus Taylor said the government wouldn't subsidize a nuclear plant.
The LNP have about a year to develop a policy before the next election. I want to see a little more depth in their thinking.
"Hurr, durr, other countries have done it" absolutely does not cut it for me.
