The “Allies” intended that the provisionof 50% workers representation on company boards would prevent Germanyfrom ever rising again. The Soviets wanted to go further and restrictGermany, and Germans, to agriculture only. But the Germans aren’tanything like Australians, and the 50% worker participation worked OKfor them.
