why would you want to use 'unemployment' as some kind of measure of success????????

is not the debate about manufacturing and driving Oz forward in a technological world?

but, you divert away to 'unemployment' --------- one of the doggiest ways of measurement of all -------------- one hour of work a week and you aren't unemployed -

wow - whoopy duck - that's a solid measure of national health eh?

if you look to most of the countries that are way more advanced than Australia in things like social welfare, free education and the like - what you see is that most of those countries are also into technological development and some are also manufacturers --

as for your silliness of 'what's the good of education if you can't get a job' ------

whoosh- well, in France, if you are educated and qualified atm - you can take your pick. There are employment signs everywhere on the fences of industries ---

If Australia wants to advance, to develop ---------- then it needs to cover the basics

    house it's people
    feed it's people
    educate it's people
    care for it's people

and fund the hell out of research - including STEM

it's what the big kids do
