Copper about to quadruple - says this trader!According to prominent commodities trader and hedge fund manager Pierre Andurand, who has brought his investors above-average profits in the past - for example with bets against crude oil just before the start of the coronavirus pandemic - the current headwinds are likely to be only temporary.

In an interview with the Financial Times last Friday, Andurand put forward the theory that copper is set to quadruple in the coming years: due to its importance in the global transformation of the energy industry, which can hardly be overestimated, demand for copper will far exceed supply from 2025:

"We are moving towards a doubling of demand growth for copper due to the electrification of the world, caused primarily by e-vehicles, solar modules, wind farms, but also due to military applications and data centres," Andurand said in the interview.
