Nice in theory (and I agree), however the Australian Government (regardless of which party) doesn't have a great record of supporting a terrific new product, in any industry. They are followers, not leaders, who get wrapped up and bogged down in their own red tape and bickering. It's more often the case that said "terrific new product" goes offshore to another country who can see the immediate value and opportunity. Our leaders desperately want Oz to be the "smart country", but they just can't get out of their own way to do that. More's the pity.
