If ever there were a Catch22 situation;
1) if a suitor were to be very keen, then there is the problem of making a formal dollar offer a) if the offer is at/near/or above what shorters entered, then the consequences would be to drive the price above the offer price - yes/no?
2) if a suitor realises above scenario and postpones an offer in hopes that the shorts would be significantly reduced if not eliminated, then; a) the price would be that much higher anyway due to the stage of plant and production plus; b) a potential rival may enter the fray.
3) the appeal of a sure thing having a functioning well run production plant is also undeniable especially if you had backup billions at your disposal.
So many variables to factor in, so much potential.
Sigh....glad it's not my worry.
