I'm starting to think it's being deliberately delayed/blocked as it is going to provide such a large high quality long term resource which is needed to transition to renewables.

WA is a gas/iron ore state with the largest chunk of political donations coming from the major gas giants. Woodside, Beach etc. Or Rio/BHP which are also taking prime position on epa applications.

No mine = No solar industry = more coal and gas
win win at the top of the food chain.

There was also rumours that funding/staff have been cut recently at the EPA and existing staff are well under the work pile. Therefore only the very top political donours are taking priority.
