The following is simply my opinions that the public should think deeply as a result of Australia becoming a signatory now possibly being compounded with the introduction of legislation to stifle free speech.
Since the advent of the internet the Israeli and Jewish lobbyist need a mechanism to regain control to centralise the public attention towards the holocaust narrative. The opportunity arose when a US Jewish Attorney wrote some guidelines, simply for data collection on what may be construed as antisemitism. It never was written in a legal format but it formed the base to be pushed through out the world. Aust became a signatory to this document known as the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance(IHRA). I suggest that posters read at least the general interpretation of the this document and think about what one would expect of an adult as being common knowledge. As an example, if I write in a post that Jews are bad, one would expect that any Jew who responds to your post would know that there other bad people in the world. Not so! If u don’t include a neutralising example then it is classified as antisemitic - I’m possibly wrong but I’m sure other poster had received similar retorts.
Australian Humans rights lawyer - Geoffrey Robertson - and others, condemn the IHRA document as aiming to stifle freedom of speech. Fortunately, our government hasn’t implemented as legislation which could result as finable offence.
Will the misinformation or disinformation bill be an additional hindrance to discussion on Israeli and Jewish matters? SkyNews commentator who are biased toward Israel have concerns about further curbing of free speech.
