Because it has been a favoured tactic of influencers and scammers whereby they do a trade then at least partially benefit from followers making that come true. I refer more to people like The Kardashians and Bitcoin traders but it does happen across all markets. GameStop which is making a comeback is a more clear example. It was a problem at HC a few years ago I think in the 2006-2012 period and got investigated. Which is why posters are (now) required to specify position and Sentiment. So there is a record.
I hardly think MLX is that kind of stock but I've tried to explain why it rankles.
