The three key takeaways from the "Battery Energy Storage Summit below were these:

1. Leveraging data is becoming more critical for extracting profits from assets. This includes financial data from the market, technical data from site monitoring, and operational insights from O&M providers.
2. Battery analytics is crucial in maximising asset valuation. With a more detailed understanding of battery health and future potential, we can more accurately predict future cash flow.
3. Flexible warranty options facilitate robust revenue forecasting. Accurate data can potentially enable and unlock this.
This is why I believe the real game changer in this sub-segment is going to be in the "Battery Energy Storage Systems" (BESS) space. This is one of Fortescue/WAE's target markets.
How so?
Well for one, they're already operating in this space. They've already built a 60MW solar farm at their Chichester mine operations and Fortescue’s Solomon (16MW) and North Star (26MW) mine sites BESS projects have been designed, installed and commissioned. This is one of the world's largest network-connected Battery Energy Storage Systems" (BESS) to be developed for a mining application.
See here: https://pacificenergy.com.au/project/solomon/
As I've also highlighted, within the company's Pilbara operations and energy infrastructure they are planning to build large gigawatts of wind, solar and battery storage for their Pilbara operations.
If you look at the diagram below you will note that Fortescue are planning to build out infrastructure as part of it's in-house decarbonisation plan. Construction for these are planned to begin within a few years.
* 1 gigawatt of solar;
* 1 gigawatt of wind energy;
* 4 gigawatt hours of battery storage and
* 750 kms of transmission lines
And this excludes all the work that has and continues to be developed for it's green heavy mobile equipment: haul trucks, excavators, drills, locomotives, fast chargers, Green Pioneer ship, Infinity Train and other HME's.
I bet they're already integrating Elysia into many of those projects, particularly their Battery Energy Storage Systems" (BESS). Now wouldn't they be able to gain real world insights and learnings within their space that they will be able to potentially take to peers within their industry? I'd say so.
Look at what has just taken place! Brookfield has just made an agreed offer of $10.2 billion dollars for Neoen the biggest developer of renewable and storage assets in Australia. They're experts in battery energy storage folks! Do you see where I'm going with this now? If Fortescue are able to reveal insights gained as per the three take away points above, then what do you think this kind of knowledge/insight will mean for companies operating in this space? Fortescue/WAE just need partners like these players to use their Elysia cutting edge technology.

And here's the other piece of news from AF's Squadron Energy. These are potential partners for WAE's technology folks!

Can you understand now why I'm so excited about the Battery Energy Storage Systems" (BESS) space? It's a MEGA BILLION $$ space!
