Bedger alleges that the SP rose by 30% after an announcement that ZIP would be added to Google's website as a payment option, along with Affirm. That was also allegedly worthy of a market sensitive ASX announcement. Same time, as you say, ZIP lost vast amounts of customers. Might need Bedger to explain, no doubt he'll be able to cobble a few graphs together with some pretty colours
