US markets fell again and this time gold held (up by small margin) and gold miners finished in the green. This is a departure from recent behavior where gold miners would go down with rest of the market and even if gold did have small gains.

Are we seeing the early trend where gold will be diverging from rest of the market and gold miners will be the next darling as investors seek safety?

I expected to see gold stocks falling in the US due to margin calls and people rushing to the exit doors early and avoid traffic jams in an event US markets get more solid knock tonight.
