Risk v Reward is for the people who put their money on the line, in this case the shareholders. Whoever started a company is kind of irrelevant, they either own shares in it, or they don't.
Fortunately management have very big shareholdings so incentive is lined up nicely, and management are enjoying the same benefits the rest of the shareholders are.
Do they need more than that? For free?
