IMO this is part of a far broader trend towards de-Globalisation and in particular decoupling from the China/Russia/Iran/NK axis by Western countries.
    (And vice versa of course.)
    Economic and, unfortunately, military.
In this context, Lynas with a near monopoly on ex-China RE, has huge strategic significance. This is, IMO, only partly reflected in its SP.
They are also in the process of major expansion; both in NdPr volume and range of product (separated HRE).
Finally, their production is low cost even compared to most Chinese producers. They can make a modest profit now; for the industry as a whole to be viable the NdPrO price needs to be closer to the US$80-100/kg I've mentioned before. At that price an expanded Lynas would be very profitable indeed. (I've done those sums previously.)
