Nothing says credible science more than non-controlled, non-published, non-peer-reviewed subjective views. You could have given them some generic moisturiser and got the same type of effects of feeling that their skin feels smoother, 'healthier' and more hydrated. My favourite was that most people agreed that their skin FEELS more protected - the 'feels' is a validated measure of skin barrier function and UV protection apparently.
