As an example the Tier1 panels installed on my roof in 2014 are rated at 250 W. The same sized panels today are rated at 400W so in less than 10 years that's a massive 60% increase and the cost has gone down around 50% For wind turbines the increase is similar due to design efficiencies and size increase.
Had we not had these earlier developments, we wouldn't be seeing the efficiencies we see today. I'm sure there are plenty more improvements to come. The same applies to hydrogen development.
