My rough calculations had $19.3 mill for dso from adina to renard so $22mill seems reasonable @merwej question is are they building a standard highway which would require road trains to transport or a special purpose built mining haulage rd which would allow these large caterpillar dump trucks.
This choice would depend on the Canadian government as they would be permitting and funding a part of this rd??

    Highway Road Construction Costs
    • Typical Cost Range: $1 million to $5 million per kilometer
    • Factors Influencing Costs:
      • Location: Urban areas are generally more expensive due to land acquisition costs and the need to navigate existing infrastructure.
      • Terrain: Mountainous or uneven terrain increases costs due to additional grading and earthwork.
      • Standards and Specifications: Highways require durable materials, extensive drainage systems, and safety features such as guardrails, signage, and lighting.
      • Environmental Considerations: Costs can increase due to environmental impact assessments and mitigation measures.
    Mining Haulage Road Construction Costs
    • Typical Cost Range: $100,000 to $500,000 per kilometer
    • Factors Influencing Costs:
      • Design and Usage: These roads are designed to handle heavy mining trucks and equipment rather than high-speed vehicle traffic.
      • Location: Costs can vary depending on the proximity to the mining site and the type of terrain.
      • Construction Materials: Mining haul roads often use lower-cost materials, such as gravel or compacted earth, rather than asphalt or concrete.
      • Maintenance: Ongoing maintenance is crucial due to the heavy loads and wear and tear, but initial construction costs are generally lower than highways.
    Key Differences
    1. Standards and Specifications: Highway roads must meet stringent design standards for safety and durability, while mining haul roads prioritize functionality for heavy equipment.
    2. Materials: Highways often use high-quality materials like asphalt or concrete, whereas mining haul roads may use cheaper materials.
    3. Environmental and Regulatory Requirements: Highway construction typically involves more regulatory compliance and environmental considerations.
