"I dunno, maybe having empathy for some of the world that will suffer, maybe thinking about your children's children. Can't expect a bunch of people here to think long term though.
What about the alleviation of suffering that an affordable and reliable source of energy such as coal facilitates in supporting economic development in poor countries?
Only blinkered ideology would seek to deny billions of people around the world access to dependable energy right now which is required to build hospitals, schools, and homes, as well as steelmaking raw materials to build essential infrastructure needed to lift standards of living in those poor countries.
