Marrickville's median house price soared by 11.4 per cent in the year to April to $2.049million as Dulwich Hill saw a 13.4 per cent increase to $2.236millon.

Immigration
A record
548,800 migrants on a net basis flooded into Australia in the year to September and capital city rental vacancy rates are under one per cent - leading to long queues from prospective tenants.
The 168,690 new homes built last year is also well short of the average of 240,000 new homes a year, over five years, Labor is promising to build as part of its promise for 1.2million new houses and units from July this year until 2029.
With 2.5 people per home on average, that leaves a housing shortfall of 127,075 just to house new migrants before births are even factored in.
The Treasury Budget papers had net overseas migration falling to 260,000 by 2024-25, and 255,000 in 2025-26 - with these figures including the permanent intake, covering skills, and the long-term component covering international students.
