My discussions with one of the few orthopaedic surgeons who do ATI indicated the workers compensation insurers can have a negative effect also. There are a lot of injured workers who might benefit and even save the insurer money if they would fund it. Some do and some do not.
It is not a cheap procedure so it won’t happen for a lot of people who really need it unless there is financial assistance available.
