I've lived on-and-off in Tanzania the past 2 years and it's safe from a security standpoint however the corruption is rampant. The party in control of the national government has been in power 40+ years so you could call it a rotating dictatorship. They've got a 20% stake in the PRU mine so will hopefully be incentivized to get it built, however the payoffs to local governments / chiefs / tribes / middlemen / security will be significant as always. PRU would be used to this and have factored it into the cost, though of course like any Western mining company they can't admit it on an ASX press release!
