Sort of. But fortunately shares can't get bent. I loan you my share Friday and you return it Monday morning, without dents or cans under the seat. It's still good as new, no matter how many times you zoomed it round the block and sold it and bought it back. It's still worth just the same value as if it had stayed in my garage. But you do have to give me precisely 100.00% of my share back.
If its value changes it will be because the underlying market value of the share has changed.
But unlike a Porsche, there is some chance that it will have increased in value.
