Nuclear is that great is it ?
Just about all those countries built nuclear power plants long before renewables were a thing . ln many cases they did so 50 years ago. When there was no such thing as grid solar or wind power .
Nuclear was there only alternative to fossil fuel unless they had hydro. Most don't have much hydro.
Fast forward 50 years .
A new technology has come along.
One that is cheaper, cleaner and much faster to deploy . Much more flexible . One that doesn't necessarily need a grid. Fantastic for remote communities. Fantastic for remote mining sites . Fantastic for islands.
The supply and price of the fuel isn't controlled by greedy cartels and warmongers.
lt's called " renewable energy ".
So nuclear shills . Answer these questions for the forum with regard to nuclear power .
1. How long to get the legislation changed ?
2. How long to develop a nuclear support industry ?
3. After 1 and 2 are completed , how long to build one nuclear power station ? ln Australia. With Australian standards . By Australians .
4. How much will that power station cost ?
5. Where will that power station be located given that coal communities and the major electricity companies have rejected them already ?
6. What will we do for power after the coal power stations have shut down and we are waiting for one nuclear power station to be built ?
7. Where will we get the water from ?
8. Where will the waste be stored ?
9. How will baseload nuclear compete with renewables in 2045 when mature fully depreciated coal can't do so in 2024 ?
