I have had 50 years experience in retail from the lower classifications through to senior account management.

There is no justification for paying that 21 year old hired alongside an 18 year old a different pay scale. Same level of competency on day 1, just different pay.

WHO mentioned account management?
If you are talking about retail like working at
Bunnings well I wouldn’t employ a 18 yo or
21 yo, I would just employ a pet monkey or two.
