It doesn't say what the * is in the report, so in this case it was not Mason cherry picking information to craft a narrative of failure from trials that are designed to test safety.
I have tried to argue with flat-Earthers in the past and their abject refusal to acknowledge anything that does not fit their narrative is similar to what I see here. If it doesn't fit the predetermined outcome then it is not allowed or discredited.
I don't know the agenda but I sense a similar approach.
