Yes this is an interesting point you bring up of course an inland lake is just not on , and of course with ppm and sheer volumes.
There may be an issue I'm thinking , is the need for "whatever" ?? Chemicals needed to extract the Lithium Hydroxide from the brines hence the waste going back in and is " not the same" as you put it.
If you look into Electroflow DLE, they clearly state the more environmentally sustainable and the lack of toxic chemicals in their DLE process ?
This could be the difference too as a thought?
Hence why the contamination of the aquifer by these chemicals maybe?? We need to examine the distinct differences in DLE processes
