There are those that get their pleasure out of making life miserable for others. Life is what you make it to an extent. If you "don't let the bastards get you down" then it's not too bad. I'm happy to be still looking down at the grass and not up at its roots.

I won't feel miserable eating a mud crab tonight even though I did tip it into boiling water while it was still alive. I prefer that to killing it slowly with a steel spike. I'm certainly not going to eat it raw or alive.

"take the lobsters and crabs etc that we put into hot water alive - how bad is that?"
