Anyone else noted the LG recall of 18,000 residential li-ion batteries? Seems old news but noticed it is more public now as they haven't been able to locate all the batteries.
I am betting in the next few years this won't be isolated to just LG. How about batteries that will soon need replacing but are left in action, do they present more of a hazard?
VRFB can be working 20+ years with minimal maintenace and zero fires. At what point does 'cheapest option' stop being the deciding factor in this rush to store energy?
