Just put the annoying people on 'ignore' like I do, it makes for a much more peaceful experience. Hover your mouse over their profile picture on the left and you will see the option to 'ignore'. Personally I only do it for people who do not read posts and keep repeating mantras that arise as a response to the conversation they are having with themselves in their own head. People who have different POV's and opinions on things I have no problem with as long as they are able to express themselves coherently and don't simply spout ridicule, abuse or other ad-hominems. For some reason I haven't put EOT on ignore, I guess I find him too amusing to cancel.
