As with all things there are two sides of every headline, I did read that the petrodollar was only an 'agreement' not a contractual obligation so saying the petro dollar is dead is not really accurate, it is in decline as less countries rely on it for commercial payments. Some have added that it could take up to 20 years before it is replaced completely. So on balance it makes good headlines but should not be a trigger for over reacting.
If people believe the news is being censured a quick search will find more than enough info about the changes in cluding currencies and the anticipated introduction of a 'petrocurrency'.
